nakama
In a forgotten village wrapped in mist and mangroves, a young girl named Aira searched for a fading memory. Beside her walked Nakama—her childhood imaginary friend, reborn in adulthood through dreams. Holding masks once worn in forest games, they retraced their steps through dreamscapes of tigers, twirling skirts, and whispered secrets. Each tree echoed laughter, each breeze carried fragments of stories once lived. As the journey deepened, Aira realized she wasn’t seeking a memory, but a farewell. Under the dusk-lit canopy, she hugged Nakama for the last time. “Thank you,” she whispered. And with that, he faded, leaving her whole again.
